I purchased this exact system and I’m having one issue. After I’m done analyzing, saving and then quitting; I then go to the arc 4 software and it remains neutral with no data from my analysis. It says my results are not being saved to my device. Can u please help me?

I guess it's called Colourbox because it acts like a black box where you don't know what it's doing... but you like it. In the digital world, this seems dishonest (kind of ..) because the infinite replication to sell millions at the click of a button . Yet in the analogue world this is some engineers' whole reason for existence , their obsession - finding some random outboard and listening to what it does, even in bypass. Let's take Brauer's use of the input/output stages of an Akai s612 as a form of saturation on his vocal chain as an example .. and an anecdote of him at NAMM trying stuff out and just buying on a whim, not knowing what the gear is really doing, just liking the sound . In other words it has a kind of market .. but in this form it's contrived rather than being a discovery .

Good review. I kinda like the Safari Pedals plugins. And ironically, I first paid attention to them exactly BECAUSE of their graphics. I figure that any company that's willing to have some fun with the looks of their product has the confidence that the performance will stand up to the test. And they sure do. 🙂

Regarding setting, well, yes, you have to make settings for headphone correction software.... settings have to be made for monitors in a room also, i.e. acoustic treatment. The later, more expensive and time consuming. Choose your poison.

Last week, I saw that this model was on sale at a shop where I usually buy music equipment (it was 1300€ instead of 1400€), so I bought it. As soon as I opened the package, I noticed that the knob was tilted. I immediately requested a replacement due to a DOA. I don't want to be annoying to sellers, but if I buy something at such a high price, I expect it to be perfect.

Which DAW do you recommend for recording, mixing midi electronic drums and mixing with a backing track? Cubase or Logic pro?

Sounds way too pillowy for me. I have the islander and it can sound pretty good, but it takes a lot of fidgeting to get it sounding right. My issue with the Wavegrove plugs is the terrible layout with tiny little virtual screw knobs and tiny switches. sucks to look at it. I can usually get the same result from other comp plugins and faster with less blind twiddling.

I recorded a live band, both with multitrack recording in the mixer on stage and ambience mics, about 10 meters from FoH (outdoors) using a Zoom H5. What should I align the zoom recording to? I can see matching waveforms and nudging it just 0.1 ms changes the hollowness/phase. I tried by trial and error until it sounded good but still sounds weird, phasing issues.

Appreciate you taking a look at the plugin Wytse! Loved your pure reactions to playing with the parameters! Variable ratio compressors amazing tools in controlling levels without overtly changing the original sound, although you can get some VCA style action from the plugin if you use the BUS release. The dark squishy sound you got while driving the gain reduction at fast settings is a staple of the original hardware unit, and I modeled it with great care, as it was one of TTLangen's favourite sounds! "Dark hi-fi". As some have said, much of the units tonal signature is actually behind the Vari Gain parameter, and I struggled if I wanted the default setting for it to be 0% or 60%. On the other hand some people don't want a plugin to change the sound unless they've touched a control, and on the other some people want instant tone-boxes. You can of course change it to load at the setting you want by replacing the default preset. The calibration on the top right is also an important part of how the plugin responds, as it correlates to the approximate LUFS level you want the 0-point dBfs of the compressor's threshold to be, ie. if your material is at -18dBFS and you set the calibration to -14, a threshold of -4dB would already start to get some compression action going on.
